E5 Bakehouse

Independent, organic bakery in a spruced up railway arch beneath London fields Station.

E5 Bakehouse is a bakery that makes delicious sourdough breads and pastries. But it’s also a mill, café and shop. The bakery was founded over a decade ago by Ben. He had just finished a course in making sourdough bread, found his passion and started making bread in a railway arch. Since then E5 Bakehouse has grown into a well-known place for all things baked.

Any profits have been invested into buying farm land in Suffolk, called Fellows Farm. Here they grow different kinds of grains in a sustainable way. These grains find their way back to the mill and into the breads they bake. At the farm, they put a special emphasis on working with nature, not against it. It is certified organic by the Soil Association and managed for biodiversity. Wildflower meadow, ponds, fruit and nut trees create an ecosystem that benefits wildlife and nature.
